The primary activities are organized under several committees;
- The Executive Committee
- The Tour of Homes and Gardens Committee
- The Communications Committee
- The Traffic Committee
The Executive Committee is comprised of the President, Vice President, Secretary and the Treasurer. These individuals offer guidance and direction to the other committees, manage the assets, conduct the business of the organization, moderate the general membership meetings and act as liaisons for communication between the association and other entities. These individuals are elected by the general membership on an annual basis.
The Tour of Homes and Gardens Committee is responsible for the primary fundraising event of the organization. The Committee plans and manages the annual public tour of homes representing architectural and interior renovations and construction in the community. Besides generating most of the operating funds for the organization, the Tour has been a catalyst for the preservation and rejuvenation of a once blighted area by promoting the community’s greatest assets; its unique historic architecture.
The Communications Committee is responsible for providing information to members, the media and other entities. The committee has established the Communication Guidelines policy that directs appropriate use of all types of communications conducted on behalf of the organization. The Committee will oversee the publication of the newsletter, The Vibe. The Communications Committee is responsible for establishing and maintaining the website.
The Traffic Committee was established in 1993 to address the increased traffic in the Community due to the State Highway Reconstruction/Expansion Project (I-670). The ten- year effort culminated in the execution of a binding agreement called the Overall Traffic Management Plan (OTMP) in July, 2003. The committee continues to work to monitor the implementation of these mitigation actions over a six-year period. The committee is also responsible for fundraising to support the neighborhood’s financial commitment to the traffic calming features promised by the City of Columbus under this agreement.
